Comme tête de trépied pour faire de la macrophotographie, je commençais à trouver plutôt encombrante le Manfrotto 329 RC4 que j’ai (et qui est maintenant à vendre, soit dit en passant).
En effet, lorsque je veux prendre une photo en mode « portrait » avec cette tête de trépied, ce n’est pas une sinécure ! Les différents bras du truc m’empêchent de m’approcher correctement du viseur et si je ne fais pas attention, paf !, en plein dans l’œil. Ouille !
Un changement d’équipement s’imposait donc et j’ai commencé à regarder du côté des têtes à rotule et ramasser des infos et lire des critiques. Ce n’était qu’un projet à moyen terme, je me dois de préciser mais la gaffe, les amis !… J’ai été faire un petit tour chez mon magasin de caméra favori, Photo Service… et j’ai vu le Novoflex MagicBall MB50 et là, ç’a été l’amour fou.

Je l’ai briévement essayé ce weekend et je suis très impressionnée. Il n’y a aucun jeu dans le mécanisme, toutes les pièces semblent usinées à la perfection. Pas mal moins encombrant, comme truc, à part ça !

While doing some macrophotography, I found that my Manfrotto 329 RC4 that I am using (and that I’m selling) is rather cumbersome and makes taking pictures in “portrait” mode very clumsy. The arms of the contraption seem to always get in the way and if I’m not careful, I get poked in the eye.
So I obviously needed a change of equipment and I was thinking of tripod ballheads, the least cumbersome tripod heads around. It was not a priority for me and I was gathering info and reading some reviews to make sure I made the right decision when the time came to buy. But this weekend, I made a small mistake and went to my favourite camera store in town, Photo Service. One of the cool sales rep there showed me the Novoflex MagicBall MB50 and it was love at first sight! (Thank god for credit…)
I’ve briefly tried it this weekend (really, I cannot stress enough what lousy weather we are getting this summer…) and the feel of the device is very solid and steady. No looseness at all in the adjustment rings. I am more than pleased with it.
